FDR Response to Editorial #7

The British government knows they were never alone in this endeaver called WW2. Even though the American people were against getting involved before Pearl Harbor, the executive branch of the US was assisting our European friends in their efforts against the Axis countries for many years. I am pleased to announce that on January 1st, 1942, representatives of 26 Allied nations fighting against the Axis Powers met in Washington, D.C. to pledge their support for the Atlantic Charter by signing the "Declaration by United Nations". Our conviction to win is rock solid. Japan you may have struck first to start this fight, but we will end it. One thing the world will understand is how much we will sacrifice to make sure the world is free to all the people that inhabit it.

Let's light this candle!

Yours in Victory - FDR
