Macarthur Response toEditorial 8

Island Hopping will work. The idea is to capture certain key islands one after another until Japan is in range of the American bombers.  We are not going to hit all of the 25,000 islands, we are hitting the main ones because then we can get to Japan faster and get them back. How is this time-saving? Yes, it will be hard to do because the Japanese are used to hiding and being sneaky.

Some Americans are trying to stop us from this “silly” idea but go on try to make us stop because guess what, we have the president, FDR, on our side.

We don’t only use people on the ground we also have submarines and air attacks to blockade and isolate the Japanese bases.
As a leader I have the confidence but I also have some butterflies. Yes, I am a grown man that is nervous to fight. But I have the confidence that we are going to be successful.

Well got to get a good night sleep, I have a lot in store for me tomorrow.
