In the East, the Germans are trying
to gain what they call Lebenstraum or “living space” by pushing
against the Soviet Armies in Stalingrad. Blood is flowing through the
streets on both sides as the Russians are frantically trying to reinforce their
armies and are sending wave upon wave against German machine gunners. The
youth of the Red Army are fighting out of the ruins of their city. Now
that winter is upon us, the Germans are freezing every night. Their tanks
are malfunctioning, their rifles are binding up, and they are feeling the wrath
of Stalin for the first time since the beginning of Operation
Barbarossa
The Daily Mirror believes this to be
delightful news! For once, the British
find themselves with two powerful allies.
We are alone no more! However, I
also have some concerns. Is American
powerful enough to fight a war on two
fronts successfully?
Much blood is to be shed, fellow
citizens. Much.
